SCI encourages students to have their FAFSA® and all requested information completed as soon as possible to ensure financial aid is in place before a bill is due and to receive maximum consideration for financial aid. The entire financial aid process can take some time, so it is important to plan ahead and start early when applying for financial aid. SCI does not have priority dates for the financial aid application process
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) opens on October 1st for the aid year that begins the following July 1st. The FASFA® closes on June 30th of each year so please pay close attention to which FAFSA® you complete.
It is in the best interest of the student to complete their FAFSA® as soon as possible after October 1st each year. When students financial aid packages are being created the date students originally submitted the FAFSA® and the date the student completed all processing with SCI are taken into consideration.
