3. Central Texas College

Central Texas College focuses on making education and training accessible to all and supporting their student’s success and employability.  Their programs offer a quick route to employment and have courses that prepare you to transfer to complete upper-level degrees. 4. CyberTex Institute of Technology

Their Killeen campus is in the heart of the city and offers programs in IT and Healthcare including Medical Assistant and Vocational Nursing. 5. OG’s School of Hair Design

If Cosmetology is your passion, the OG’s School of Hair Design may be the place for you.  Their mission is to train with the latest techniques in the art and science of barbering and hair design.  Their goal is to prepare students to pass the State Board Examination.  They teach you the art of cutting all types of hair, and the “Theory of All Chemical Services” including coloring through both classroom and hands on training in a salon setting.

6. New Horizons Computer Learning Centers

They offer several career training programs in Network Systems Administration, Security IT, Business Administration and Medical Office Administration.  Most of their programs last 2-6 months and prepare you to be career-ready.  They cater to military to help them transition into civilian life by providing them with IT job skills that employers require. They help navigating VA benefits and train you for a career with real economic opportunities.  They also offer a Business Administration Associate (BAA) program that you can earn in 12 weeks, and the Business Administration Professional program (BAP) which lasts 25 weeks and includes operations and project management classes for the business environment.

7. ATDS Truck Driving School

ATDS offers a complete and comprehensive program for tractor/trailor driving.  Their program stresses safety and professionalism and is licensed by the Texas Workforce Commission.  They are certified by the Professional Truck Driver Institute and approved for Veterans Training by Texas Work Force.

8. 2H Solar

Founded by veterans in 2016, 2H Solar provides training for a career in the solar industry.  You learn elements of electrical engineering, construction management and the PV fundamentals.  They offer hands-on training where you install panel systems and connecting arrays in live systems.  You learn about proper wiring methods for grid tied and stand-alone systems.  Classes are small, and you work in teams so you will be prepared to work in this fast moving and growing industry.

9. Yahweh Beauty Academy

Since 2005, Yahweh Beauty Academy has been training students to become cosmetologists, barbers and instructors.  They are licensed by Texas Cosmetology Commission and instructs students in several areas of cosmetology to become a hair stylist, colorist, braiding and weaving specialist, nail technicians, salon owners, platform artists and beauty school instructors.  Their goal is to train students to pass the Texas Cosmetologist State Board exam and provide the community with skilled professionals.
