HARLINGEN, TX / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 31, 2026 / Southern Careers Institute (SCI) Harlingen Branch Campus is welcoming local families, prospective students, and community members to its Back to School Event on Friday, August 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 1122 Morgan Blvd., Harlingen, TX 78550.
The free community event is designed to help families prepare for the upcoming school year while introducing attendees to the career training opportunities available at Southern Careers Institute. Guests can enjoy free school supplies, complimentary haircuts provided by Cosmetology Operator students from the Brownsville Branch Campus under instructor supervision, campus tours, and information about enrolling in career training programs.
Event highlights include:
- Free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last (first come, first served)
- Free haircuts provided by the Brownsville Branch Campus Cosmetology Operator students while availability lasts (first come, first served)
- Campus tours and meet with our admissions team
- Explore SCI’s classrooms and training labs
- Local vendors showcasing products and services
- Information about career training programs and financial aid options for those who qualify
SCI’s Harlingen Branch Campus offers hands-on career training designed to help students prepare for careers in healthcare, skilled trades, and business. During the event, prospective students can meet with admissions representatives, tour the campus, and learn about available programs, scholarship opportunities for those who qualify, and career services.
Local businesses interested in participating as vendors are encouraged to reserve their space early, as availability is limited.
