BROWNSVILLE, TX / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 30, 2025 / Brownsville, TX – July 30, 2025 – Southern Careers Institute (SCI) Brownsville Branch Campus will host a community Open House on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM to celebrate the grand re-opening of its renovated campus and salon training spaces. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour the newly constructed facility intended for the future Nursing program.
The event will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:00 PM, followed by remarks from local Chamber of Commerce representatives, Southern Careers Institute CEO Jacob Mayhew, and Campus Director Jeremie Baldwin. Community leaders, partners, and prospective students are invited to attend and explore the campus, meet faculty, and learn more about the programs offered.
“We are proud to showcase our updated salon training environment and unveil our newly-built Nursing program facility, which is designed to help meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in the Brownsville area,” said Jeremie Baldwin, Campus Director of SCI Brownsville Branch Campus. “We look forward to launching the program in the near future.”
Highlights of the Open House include:
- Tours of the updated salon and campus facilities
- Program demos: Facial, Nails and Braid Bars in the salon, healthcare demos, and Electrical Technician training demonstrations
- Live radio remotes from 4:00 – 6:00 PM
- Refreshments for guests and employees throughout the event
The SCI Brownsville Branch Campus is also launching its new Esthetician program, expanding its offerings alongside the existing Cosmetology Operator program. The campus provides hands-on career training for additional programs including Business Accounting Specialist, Business Administration, Computer Support Specialist, Electrical Technician, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, Nurse Aide, and Pharmacy Technician.
The Open House is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. Whether you’re a prospective student, proud alumnus, or a community member, this is a great opportunity to experience the exciting growth and transformation happening at SCI in Brownsville.
