How You Can Waste Your Time at Pharmacy Schools in San Antonio

You know you need a job to support yourself and get ahead on life. There are many educational options out there, and you decided to enroll at pharmacy schools in San Antonio. But you always were a good student without needing to try too hard – how difficult can study at pharmacy schools in San Antonio be? With that kind of attitude, you won’t make the most of your time at pharmacy schools in San Antonio, and chances are you won’t achieve your greatest potential. Studying takes dedication, perseverance, hard work, and asking questions. However, if you want to waste your time while in pharmacy schools in San Antonio, below are several ways you can do just that:

  • No class: Why attend class when you could spend your time reading, studying – or simply relaxing. Isn’t the point of the class simply to reiterate your readings, which you can do at any time? No, you cannot. Don’t assume that you know what your instructor is going to teach in class; he or she goes into depth about certain topics, explain complex scenarios, and allow for question and answer sessions. And don’t forget, you are paying to access their knowledge and experience. The bottom line: attend class!
  • Say no to notes: If you do attend class, do not take any notes – it removes your focus from the instructor. You can also review the syllabus, complete your reading, and borrow notes from other students, so why do it yourself? It doesn\’t work like that. Active note taking lets you jot down concepts in your own words, indicate areas of difficulty and make connections in your material both to supplement and complement your readings.
  • Don’t ask questions: When people ask questions in class, it just seems like an interruption! Keeping quiet lets the lecture end sooner, and who wants to stay in class longer than necessary? Actually, asking questions is important – it keeps you alert in class, clarifies details, and lets your instructor know that you are engaged in the lecture. If you are a quiet type, write down your questions and ask during office hours or through email.
  • A cram slam: Cramming is a great way to learn and to manage your time – you get plenty of time to relax and socialize with friends, and when it comes time to study, you do it all at once. The material is fresh in your mind. Unfortunately, cramming is never a good way to study. You sacrifice your sleep which is actually counterproductive. Studying daily lets you know the areas where you need more help, and gives you the time to clarify topics so that you truly understand the material. Most importantly, studying daily lets you get a great night’s sleep before an exam, making sure you are in the best possible shape.
  • Indulge in stress: Studying, possibly attending classes, quizzes, papers, cramming – there’s a lot to do in pharmacy schools in San Antonio. The more pressure, the better – right? Wrong. Pharmacy school can be incredibly stressful, leading to lack of sleep, irritability, and reduced performance. Give yourself breaks, eat healthy food, exercise, and sleep to manage your stress and succeed.

Finding the right strategy to achieve success in pharmacy schools in San Antonio may seem like a no-brainer, but there are misconceptions about what does and does not work. Keep in mind the techniques above to ensure that your time is well spent.
