Financial Aid Options for Cosmetology Schools in Corpus Christi Texas

If you’re thinking about applying to one of the great cosmetology schools in Corpus Christi Texas, but you’re worried about how you are going to finance your studies, you’ll be relieved to know that there are a number of finance options available to you. If you are eligible, you may be able to find financial aid that will cover some, or all, of the expenses involved in further education including tuition and fees, books/supplies, living expenses, and transportation costs.

Here you will be provided with a list of the various financial aid options that may be available to you if you’re applying to one of the many cosmetology schools in Corpus Christi Texas.

Grants

You may be able to apply for the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program. This is a means tested grant, meaning that your financial situation will be considered and the grant size adjusted accordingly. This grant is available to all Texas students enrolled in a two year course and require financial assistance. The Texas Public Education Grant comes from a college or school’s own funds and is awarded to those students who are experiencing financial struggles. Many of the cosmetology schools in Corpus Christi Texas offer grants for student loans. Texas also support the Towards Excellence, Access & Success Grants Programs, meaning that prepared and successful high school students who may have financial difficulties can still attend higher education programs. This grant covers access to any higher education facility in Texas. Grants do not need to be paid back to the financial institution offering the funds.

Scholarships

The Top 10% Scholarship Program allows all high students who have completed high school within the top 10% of their graduating class to receive financial aid to attend a Texas public institution of higher education of their choosing. Individual schools and colleges also offer scholarships to assist those who may be struggling financially. Check with a selection of cosmetology schools in Corpus Christi Texas to see if you are eligible for their scholarship fund programs. Just like grants, scholarships do not require repayment once the recipient student has graduated.

Loan Programs

College Access Loans are available to all students residing and studying in the state of Texas. There is no need to demonstrate your financial struggle to apply for theses loans. You can easily apply online, or through your chosen college. However, these CALs do have to be paid back in full at a rate decided upon at the time of application. The Texas B-On-Time Loan provides students with no-interest loans to attend a university of college in Texas. If the student meets agreed upon goals set up at the time of application the loan is considered repaid, but must be reported to the IRS as a taxable income.

Hazelwood Exemption

The Hazelwood Exemption is a financial aid fund available to Texas veterans, their spouses, and their children to cover all tuition expenses in any public Texas institute of higher education. With the right knowledge at hand, your decision to pursue an education at one of the cosmetology schools in Corpus Christi Texas may be easier than you thought. Any prospective student of any college or school program should become aware of the various financial aid systems that are available to him or her. Financial strain can be a significant factor in many students dropping out of his or her program or struggling to maintain focus, but for the majority of students in Corpus Christi, this financial burden can be alleviated with these assistance funds and systems.
