Southwest Schools (SWS)- McAllen Campus

Built specifically to serve the McAllen Metropolitan area, SWS is accredited by the Council on National Education and the Texas Workforce Commission.

It has a fairly limited class selection compared to most technical schools in McAllen TX. Students can study to be clinical or medical assistants, medical office secretaries, computerized accounting specialists, pharmacy technicians, or general office administrative assistants.

The school accepts a wide range of financial aid forms, including Pell Grants, Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants, and three types of William D. Ford loans. It also offers its own scholarships to promising students.

South Texas College

A community college with six separate campuses, South Texas College is headquartered in McAllen Texas. It also has a Technology campus and a Nursing and Allied Health campus in the same city.
