Alamo Colleges
- Federal Pell Grant. If eligible, you will only pay back the grant (or a portion of the grant) if you leave school or drop classes.
- Federal direct loans. These loans come through the federal government and you must pay back all the money you borrow.
- TEXAS Grant. Another option you never pay back, the TEXAS Grant is available for recent high school graduates living in Texas.
- Texas Public Education Grants (TPEG). You may apply whether you are a Texas resident, out-of-state resident, or even a foreign student. TPEGs take funds from college resources to support students with little or no Federal Pell Grant eligibility.
Southern Careers Institute
- Federal Pell Grant.
- William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. These are low-interest loans offered by the U.S. Department of Education for students and their parents. You can choose from a variety of repayment plans, even changing according to your needs.
- Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). You can receive between $100 and $4,000 per year in funds that are never repaid. Those who have the highest need for aid or are already receiving a Federal Pell Grant are given priority for FSEOGs.
- School scholarship match. Southern Careers Institute (SCI) offers their own scholarships and helps students find scholarships from external organizations.
- Veteran’s benefits assistance. All programs at SCI are approved for VA funding. Financial assistance may cover some or all of the costs of education for veterans and their dependents. Financial aid officers also assist students with paperwork.

- Federal student loans. By law, federal student loans must include income-based repayments, income-contingent repayment plans, and loan forgiveness benefits. Other loans are not required to provide these flexible repayment options.
